<概要>
本講演では、まず、人文・社会科学（SSH）における研究成果の発表形態として、書籍出版と学術誌（ジャーナル）論文出版がそれぞれ果たしている役割について、新たな知識の創出および伝達の両面、ならびに教育・文化・社会との相互作用という観点から整理し、説明する。次に、研究成果をいかに記録・把握するかという観点からのドキュメンテーション上の課題について、図書館システム、メタデータのインデクシング・システム、ならびに現在用いられている研究情報システムとの関係に即して検討する。さらに、研究成果の測定の問題について、書籍出版に投入される労力と、学術誌論文出版に要される労力との間でバランスをとりうる書誌計量学指標のあり方について論じる。最後に、人文・社会科学における書籍出版をいかに評価しうるのかという問題について、ヨーロッパにおけるいくつかの国レベルの研究評価制度を参照しつつ検討する。その際、学術書出版におけるピアレビューの役割、ならびに国内出版社と国際出版社の役割の違いについても併せて論じる。

講演者略歴
Gunnar Sivertsen is Research Professor Emeritus at the Nordic Institute for Studies in Innovation, Research and Education (NIFU) in Oslo, Norway. He has a background in the humanities with a PhD on 18th Century Scandinavian literature, but most of his career has been dedicated to research for research policy needs. He was the founder of bibliometrics in Norway and designed the current research information system in Norway (CRIStin) as well as the Norwegian Publication Indicator with a balanced representation of the social sciences and humanities. More generally, Sivertsen’s research contributes to science-based innovation in the development of research evaluation, research funding, and the use of indicators. He has advised the development of research evaluation and funding systems in several countries in direct interaction with governments, institutions, and academic communities. He has co-authored publications with researchers from more than 30 countries and has published in fourteen different languages. He was awarded the Derek de Solla Price Memorial Medal in 2025 for “outstanding contributions to the fields of quantitative studies of science”.
