＜Outline＞
'Visible' scientists, from historical examples including Albert Einstein, Marie Curie, Hideki Yukawa and Stephen Hawking to contemporary ones such as Anthony Fauci, Salim Abdool Karim, and Hiroshi Amano, have influenced public perceptions and trust in science. This seminar will focus on emerging actors and key challenges in contemporary science communication. Visible scientists and universities are increasingly becoming key actors in science communication practice and strategy: what are the implications for science communication training and public perception of and trust in science? The seminar will also explore the role of policy makers as users of science communication, particularly in connection with crisis situations like the recent pandemic.

「顔の見える（'visible'）」科学者たち―歴史的にはアインシュタイン、マリー・キュリー、湯川秀樹、スティーブン・ホーキングらや、最近ではアンソニー・ファウチ、サリム・アブドゥル・カリム、天野浩など―　は、社会における科学への認識や信頼に影響を与えてきました。このセミナーでは、現代の科学コミュニケーションにおける新たな担い手と主要な課題に焦点を当てます。「顔の見える（'visible'）」科学者と大学は、科学コミュニケーションの実践と戦略において、ますます重要な担い手となっていますが、これは、科学コミュニケーションのトレーニングや、社会における科学への認識および信頼においてどのような影響をもたらすでしょうか？また、このセミナーでは、特に最近のパンデミックのような危機的状況に関連して、科学コミュニケーションの利用者としての政策立案者の役割についても探ります。
